Co-written with Jacques Levy, it was a staple of the Rolling Thunder Revue shows.
The words
A man leaves his new wife for a strange quest through cold mountains and returns changed.
A man marries a woman named Isis and then, restless, rides away from her. He falls in with a stranger who promises treasure, and the pair travel through cold, wild country to rob a tomb, only for his companion to die and the prize to prove empty. Changed by the ordeal, he returns to Isis, and the song ends on their reunion. It unfolds like a myth or dream. Co-written with Jacques Levy, it was a staple of the Rolling Thunder Revue shows.
