He reworked it from an unreleased Infidels-era song.
The words
A man trapped in a tense, mistrustful affair keeps asking where the love has gone.
The singer is caught in a relationship full of suspicion and unease, where he feels watched, misread and unsure of where he stands. The verses jump between fragments of scenes, some tense and some oddly comic, while the chorus keeps asking whether anyone has seen the love he has lost. The tone is restless and a little paranoid. He reworked it from an unreleased Infidels-era song, giving it a polished mid-eighties sound with backing singers.
